How hypnotherapy may support adults affected by abuse

This is private, structured support for emotional regulation, safer choices, and long-term change – whether you’re healing after abuse or you’re seriously committed to stopping harmful patterns. The goal is practical progress at a pace that respects safety, consent, and boundaries.

Who this is designed for

Adults healing after abuse who want steadier emotions, stronger boundaries, and safer relationship patterns.

Adults concerned about their own behaviour who are genuinely committed to stopping control, intimidation, coercion, or escalation – and building respectful alternatives.

If you’re unsure what’s appropriate, the Discovery Consultation is where we clarify fit and next steps.

What sessions typically include
  1. Safety-focused intake (goals, boundaries, immediate risks)
  2. Stabilisation skills (grounding, breath, de-escalation tools)
  3. Guided therapeutic hypnosis (reframing + mental rehearsal while you stay aware)
  4. Between-session practice (simple tools you can apply in daily life)
Safety notes (please read)

This is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Hypnotherapy is complementary and does not provide legal advice, diagnosis, or psychiatric care. If a different level of support is needed, we’ll tell you.

How the Abuse-Focused Hypnotherapy Program Works

The process begins with a confidential Discovery Consultation, followed by a structured series of one-to-one sessions with Adrian Rusin. This program is designed to support emotional regulation, safer choices, and long-term change — whether you are recovering from abuse or you’re committed to changing harmful patterns. It is a complementary service and is designed to work alongside appropriate medical, psychological, or legal support when needed.

Discovery ConsultationConfidential Assessment & Fit Check

Your first step is a 30-minute online consultation. We clarify goals, boundaries, and what support is already in place. You’ll receive a clear recommendation for the safest next step – including whether this program is appropriate to begin now.

For current fees and packages, see the Fees & Packages page.

1Stabilisation & Self-Regulation

Early sessions prioritise grounding and regulation skills (breath, body-based calming, de-escalation tools) so you have more access to calm and control before working with difficult material.

2Mapping Triggers & Patterns

We identify triggers, automatic reactions, and the beliefs or learning that keep patterns in place — without forcing memories. The pace is collaborative, and you remain aware and in control throughout.

3Installing Safer Responses

Using clinical hypnotherapy and mental rehearsal, you practise new internal language, boundaries, and responses so safer choices become easier to apply in real situations.

4Reinforcement & Maintenance

As stability improves, you receive simple between-session practice (and optional audio support when appropriate) to reinforce accountability, calm, and follow-through.

Why Hypnotherapy May Help People Affected by Abuse

Hypnotherapy offers a calm, structured way to work with the nervous system and learned patterns that can be shaped by abuse. In sessions with Adrian Rusin, the focus is on safety, informed choice, and practical tools you can use in daily life in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or online.

Calming the Nervous System

Focused relaxation and simple regulation skills may reduce hyper-vigilance and emotional overload, helping the body access calmer states more often.

Updating Learned Responses

Through guided therapeutic hypnosis and mental rehearsal, you can practise new responses to old triggers, gradually weakening automatic reactions.

Rebuilding Self-Worth & Boundaries

Sessions may support a steadier inner voice, clearer boundaries, and a more realistic sense of responsibility — helpful for survivors and for those committed to change.

Practising Safer Choices

Using imagery and rehearsal, you practise de-escalation, safer communication, and support-seeking so healthier choices feel more available in real life.

Hypnotherapy is not about reliving trauma or forcing memories. It is about creating enough safety in the body and mind to observe patterns with more clarity, then rehearsing new responses that respect your values and boundaries.

Work is paced to your comfort and designed to fit alongside any medical, psychological, or legal support you already have.

Hypnotherapy is a complementary mind–body approach and does not replace psychotherapy, medical care, legal advice, or emergency services. If immediate safety is a concern, contact local emergency services.

Frequently Asked Questions About Abuse-Focused Hypnotherapy

These answers explain how Adrian Rusin’s clinical hypnotherapy support works for adults affected by abuse in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and online, and how it can complement medical, psychological, and legal care.

Is hypnotherapy a replacement for counselling, psychiatry, or crisis services?

No. Hypnotherapy is a complementary mind–body approach. It does not replace emergency support, diagnosis, medication management, psychotherapy, or legal services. If you are already receiving care, sessions are designed to support that work with regulation skills, behaviour change tools, and structured mental rehearsal.

Can I start sessions if I’m currently in an unsafe situation?

Your immediate safety comes first. If you are in danger, contact local emergency services or a domestic-violence support service before booking hypnotherapy. Once a basic level of safety and support is in place, sessions may help with emotional regulation, clearer boundaries, and longer-term recovery or behaviour change.

Do you work with survivors and with people who want to change harmful behaviour?

Yes. Support may be appropriate for survivors who want stabilisation and recovery, and for adults who are genuinely committed to stopping controlling or harmful behaviour and building respectful alternatives. The work is grounded in accountability, consent, and safety. Adrian does not provide legal advice or forensic assessments.

Will I stay aware and in control during hypnosis?

Yes. Hypnosis is focused attention — not sleep and not mind control. You remain aware, you can speak, and you can pause or stop at any time. Sessions are collaborative, paced, and centred on your boundaries.

How is confidentiality handled?

Sessions are private and handled with discretion. If any outcomes are ever shared, they are shared without identifying details. If you need an additional privacy layer (for example, stricter handling and communication preferences), you can request it during your Discovery Consultation.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goals, your current support system, and how quickly your nervous system responds. Many clients benefit from a structured multi-session plan after the consultation, with pacing adjusted as needed. During the Discovery Consultation, Adrian will recommend a realistic next step based on fit and safety.

Can I work with you online if I don’t live in Dubai or Abu Dhabi?

Yes. Adrian offers secure online sessions for adults in the UAE and internationally. Online clients follow the same structured approach and receive simple between-session practices when appropriate.

This page does not provide diagnosis, emergency support, or legal advice. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
